About the Hollister Ranch Fire Company

Objectives

The Hollister Ranch Fire Company program is designed to meet the following objectives:

  • Make the Hollister Ranch community self reliant and independent in emergencies
  • Support the Hollister Ranch Owners Association Emergency Operations Plan
  • Mitigate personal and association risk
  • Mitigate road requirements
  • Reduce personal and association insurance costs
  • Develop fuel mitigation programs and funding
  • Promote public safety education and fire prevention
  • Support community-wide preparedness
Financing

Private parties will contribute to the program through FSTI and contributions will be exclusive to the HRFC project and tax deductable.

FSTI will provide all fundraising management and company management. All training materials and instructors will be paid by FSTI utilizing contributions from the Hollister Ranch community.

Time Line Year One
  • Purchase vehicles and water tenders. Outfit fire company building.
  • Purchase equipment including hoses, radios, protective clothing and firefighting tools.
  • Develop administrative and management policy and procedures.
  • Develop a hiring and testing process for paid members.
  • Develop a volunteer cadre and provide training programs.
  • Develop a ranch-wide program for emergency prevention, planning, preparation and basic first responder suppression.
  • Develop a Hollister Ranch Owners’ Association evacuation drill program.
  • Finalize the Hollister Ranch Emergency Operations Plan.
  • Obtain membership and participation in the Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council, Santa Barbara County Training Officers Association and the California State Firefighters’ Association (CSFA)
Time Line Years 2 through 5
  • Establish the HRFC training program pursuant to the California Incident Command Certification System (CICCS) and the
    National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) PMS‐310‐1
  • State mandated training classes
  • Title 22 First Aid and CPR training
  • Incident Command System (ICS), National
  • Incident Management System (NIMS) and Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS)
